Andrea Kiss

Kiss Andrea works as a research fellow at the Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management.

Research Fields:

• Environmental history/historical environmental geography
• Historical hydrology with special emphasis on historical floods in the last Millennium
• Historical climate, climate change research (in the last Millennium)
• Landscape history and landscape changes - in relationship with hydrological processes

Andrea’s research within the ERC project focuses on the historical river flood changes in the last 500 years (and when possible: the last Millennium) in Europe. Her task is to organise joint investigations on historical floods on a European scale. She is also responsible for developing new long-term historical flood series, especially on the Danube and in the Danube catchment.
